Shaun Accardo, M.D.
Dr. Shaun Accardo is an orthopaedic surgeon in Baton Rouge who specializes in Adult and Pediatric Musculoskeletal Oncology, as well as Orthopaedic Trauma. His specific clinical interests include benign and malignant bone tumors in adults and children, benign and malignant soft tissue tumors in adults and children, limb preservation/salvage surgery for bone and soft tissue tumors, and complex orthopaedic trauma.
After completing orthopedic surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Dr. Accardo was further trained in Musculoskeletal Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. He was also granted and completed an international traveling fellowship in both musculoskeletal oncology and orthopaedic trauma in Oxford, UK, Bern, Switzerland, and Padova, Italy.
Dr. Accardo serves on the Sarcoma Multidisciplinary Care Team (MDC) at Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center. His professional associations include American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, International Society of Limb Salvage (candidate member) and Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (candidate member).
