Dr. Karalyn R. Bentley is a surgeon in Baton Rouge and is a member of The Surgeons Group of Baton Rouge. She earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. She completed her Internship and Residency in General Surgery at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She then completed a Fellowship in Advanced GI & Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
She is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the Society for American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and the Americas Hernia Society (AHS). She is the only Minimally Invasive trained female surgeon in Baton Rouge. She has a special interest in general and minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System, hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery, gastroesophageal reflux disease, diseases of the esophagus and stomach, endocrine surgery, and breast surgery.
