Tara Jarreau, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Tara Jarreau is a cardiologist in Baton Rouge at Louisiana Cardiology Associates. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2002 from Louisiana State University. She went on to earn her Medical Degree in 2006. She completed internship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey. Then returned home to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship program in Cardiovascular Disease at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans.

Dr. Jarreau joined Louisiana Cardiology Associates in 2012. She is on the teaching faculty of LSU Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. She also holds board certification in Echocardiography and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. She practices general clinical cardiology, performing diagnostic cardiac catheterization and the interpretation of multiple cardiac imaging modalities including cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, nuclear stress test, vascular ultrasound and echocardiography.

Dr. Jarreau has served as the director to the cardiac MRI program at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center since 2013. She is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a Diplomat of the National Board of Echocardiographers. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, the Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Women in cardiology.

She has a particular interest in women’s cardiovascular health, adult congenital heart disease and heart failure. These interest have paved the way for her to take on the co-directorship of the cardio-oncology program in our community.
