Vernon Keith Rhynes, M.D.

  

Dr. V. Keith Rhynes is a surgeon in Baton Rouge at Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center and a member of The Surgeons Group of Baton Rouge. He earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, where he also completed his internship and residency in general surgery. He completed a fellowship in multi-organ transplantation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Rhynes is board certified in general surgery and serves as assistant program director for the LSUHSC-New Orleans Department of Surgery as well as the minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Rhynes has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas and colon. He also has a special interest in endocrine surgery of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. Dr. Rhynes currently serves on the hepatobiliary and colorectal multidisciplinary care (MDC) teams at Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center.
