EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY

Each year we are amazed at the organizations and individuals who come together in displays of generosity and joyous compassion to join the fight against cancer – from attending and sponsoring events to hosting their own third party events. With Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s 100% Fundraising Efficiency, every dollar raised goes directly to supporting our patients and advancing quality of care.

Each year The Gala goes somewhere new, so check back to see where we are going in 2020!

HILLAR C. MOORE, JR. CLASSIC

Hillar C. Moore, Jr. Classic, previously called the Merrill Lynch Open, is an annual golf tournament that raises funds to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer for patients and families in our community. Hillar C. Moore, Jr. became involved in the fight against cancer in 1990, joining other community leaders as a founding member of the Mary Bird Perkins Charity Golf Classic. More than 25 years later, the tournament is thriving and has contributed more than 2.5 million dollars to the Cancer Center. To honor Moore’s legacy as a leader in the community and his role in creating and helping to sustain this vitally important fundraiser, the event is named the Hillar C. Moore, Jr. Golf Classic.
