Lane Cancer Center and Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center offer free screenings for three types of cancer

(Zachary, La.) Lane Cancer Center and Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center are offering free prostate, skin, and colorectal cancer screenings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21. The screenings will be held at Lane Cancer Center, 6180 Main St., in Zachary. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are not required.

Experienced providers will conduct the prostate and skin cancer examinations, and colorectal cancer screening kits will be available for the public to pick up and use at home. Results will be mailed to participants.

Last year the two organizations announced a new partnership to provide enhanced medical oncology care and oncology infusion services to cancer patients in the Zachary area, where the number of prostate cancer diagnoses exceeds the state average.
