Young Professionals Learn About Raising Cancer Awareness

Guests Attend 1st “Beer & Bites” Event

(Baton Rouge, La.) A unique evening of socializing and education about raising cancer awareness attracted more than 75 young professionals to Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center Thursday, November 1.  Event ambassadors for the inaugural event were Britney and Collis Temple, who shared their personal connection to cancer, why they believe it is important to give back to the community, and encouraged attendees to get involved.

Guests attending “Beer & Bites” toured the center and enjoyed a fun evening of beer and food pairings presented by local brewers, and chef and caterer John Farrow.  Ethan Bush, vice president and chief development officer, Mary Bird Perkins, spoke of the many ways to create awareness of the fight against cancer and opportunities to get connected, including joining the Young Professionals Roundtable.

“We are so thrilled to introduce Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center to a dynamic group of young professionals and help find the best fit for them to help join the fight against this dread disease,” said Danielle Mack, director of development, Mary Bird Perkins.
