Tickets Now on Sale for Fun-Filled Ladies Night Out
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC Fundraising Event September 18, 2015
The ever-popular Ladies Night Out benefiting Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC is taking place in just a few weeks. Tickets are now on sale for the 9th annual fun, food and fashion show event being held Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Houma – Terrebonne Civic Center.
“The Ladies Night Out steering committee is busy planning an absolutely unforgettable, fabulous evening,” said Melanie Guilbeaux, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC director. “Committee chairs Priscilla Larpenter and Vickie Larke have added a new main attraction we’re very excited about – a cancer survivor fashion show.”
Local boutiques and salons are paired with 21 cancer survivors, some of whom have completed treatment at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC, while others have just begun.
“We encourage our community to join us as we cheer on these brave men and women walking the runway,” said Guilbeaux. “Our goal is to empower survivors by making them the focus of this event, as we raise funds to support patients in the fight against cancer.”
Regions Bank is the presenting sponsor for the annual gala featuring delicious southern-style tastings, live music by Bandit, signature pink cocktails, forks and corks, an elaborate silent auction and a 365 Wall of Giving. Randy Cheramie, executive director of the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute, will emcee the evening’s festivities.
“This gala is truly about raising awareness and funds to treat all cancers,” said Phyllis Peoples, president and CEO of Terrebonne General Medical Center. “The hospital’s partnership with Mary Bird Perkins offers residents of the Bayou Region a comprehensive cancer treatment center right here at home. For that, we greatly appreciate the community’s ongoing support.”
Proceeds from Ladies Night Out will help take the fight forward by removing barriers to care, such as transportation assistance for those needing help getting to their treatments, and helping to provide free community cancer screenings for those who otherwise could not afford them.
