Dr. Richard Stanger earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, majoring in biochemistry and minoring in history. He received his medical degree from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in The Bronx, New York. He then completed his general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond where he served as Chief Resident from 2010-2011. While in Richmond, Dr. Stanger completed a 2-year fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at The Medical College of Virginia and also served as Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Stanger specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spine surgery-cervical & lumbar, brain tumors, spine tumors, pituitary tumors, cranial surgery, carpal tunnel, ulnar nerve, spinal cord stimulators, baclofen pumps.
