Wednesday, October 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
(Covington, La.) – Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at St. Tammany Parish Hospital will host a free breast cancer survivor support group on Wednesday, October 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cancer Center, 1203 S. Tyler Street, Covington. The support group is open to anyone currently receiving treatment or who has completed treatment for breast cancer.
It can be hard to talk about how it feels to have cancer and how to manage the many emotions that accompany the diagnosis. Talking with others in a supportive environment is an effective way to manage these feelings and learn positive coping strategies. This monthly support group will be facilitated by Melinda Breaux, a Licensed Professional Counselor and breast cancer survivor.
Patients and survivors are invited regardless of where they received treatment. For more information, please call Jane Freudenberger, MSW, LCSW, at 985-875-2234 or send an email to jfreudenberger@marybird.com.
