Patient Experience Week

Take a look at the schedule for Patient Experience Week, April 22-26, 2019. Team members participated in the following activities as we celebrated the many ways every team member contributes to patients’ care – whether in-person or by doing back-office work that impacts them!

MONDAY, APRIL 22

What: How does your work impact the care patients receive? A picture’s worth a thousand words, so show us for a chance to win a FitBit Versa!

When + Where: Fun photo booths will be located:

• Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion – 2:00–3:00 p.m., first floor
• Essen Lane – 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m., second floor Overlook
• LSU Health Baton Rouge North Clinic – 2:00–3:00 p.m., break room
• Perkins Road – 9:00–10:00 a.m., Cypress Conference Room

Compassion Challenge: Take a self-care break!  Need some ideas? Take a quick walk outside, stand up and stretch, or dedicate a few minutes to deep breathing.

TUESDAY, APRIL 23

What: Let your coworkers know how much you appreciate them with a handwritten thank you note! Once you drop your completed notes in the mailbox, you’ll be entered to receive an awesome prize.

Where: Thank you notes will be available in all clinics and departments, and special mailboxes will be:

• Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion – front desk
• Essen Lane – front desk
• LSU Health Baton Rouge North Clinic – break room
• Perkins Road – Tanya Suter’s office in Patient Access

Compassion Challenge: Write notes to two team members thanking them for how they specifically impact patient care.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24

What: We’ll have another lunch option that day – food trucks! Plan to try something new with a friend. (Employees are responsible for the cost of their lunch.)

When: 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Where: Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion, Essen Lane, LSU Health Baton Rouge North Clinic, and Perkins Road

Compassion Challenge: Love the space you’re in! Pick up any trash you see on your way to meetings, at lunch, or in your work area.

THURSDAY, APRIL 25

What: Special delivery! Department managers will distribute thank you notes to team members, and we as an organization will show appreciation to our patients for choosing the Cancer Center by offering fresh fruit in waiting areas.

Compassion Challenge: Ask a patient or coworker how you can improve their day…then try to make it happen!

FRIDAY, APRIL 26

What: Grab a cup of coffee and a donut, check out pics from Monday’s photo booth, and see if you won the FitBit Versa from Monday’s raffle!

When: 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.

Where:

• Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion – first floor
• Essen Lane – Rathbone Conference Room, second floor
• LSU Health Baton Rouge North Clinic – break room
• Perkins Road – Cypress Conference Room
