Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Announces New Board Leadership

BATON ROUGE, La. – Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is pleased to announce that new board leadership has been elected to help carry out its mission.

Cordell H. Haymon was recently re-elected to serve as board chair. Other officers elected include H.N. “Hank” Saurage, IV, Vice Chair, Gerald “Jerry” T. Goss, Secretary/Treasurer, and Thomas J. “Tom” Adamek, Immediate Past Chair. Katherine “Kate” O. Castle, M.D. serves as medical director and Jonas D. Fontenot, PhD, MBA, serves as president and CEO.

Dr. Bryan J. Bienvenu, Ms. Karen Breaux, and Mr. Robert Burgess were newly elected to serve on the board for a three-year term. Kyle France was re-elected for an additional three-year term. Additional board members include Terrell “Tee” Brown, Sandra C. Brown, DNS, Vanessa O. Graham, Steven J. Moore, Cynthia B. Peterson, PhD, Mawuena “Mawe” Takyi, Rebecca Nelson, Matt Mullins and George “Rolfe” Miller.

Mr. John Boyce was recognized for his leadership and dedication to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center with an appointment to the honorary position of Director Emeritus. Boyce has served on the board since 2014.
