Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women in the U.S., and during the month of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, everyone unites to recognize individuals fighting or who are survivors of this disease. At Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, we highlight the fight against this disease through the Geaux Pink program.
Geaux Pink encourages individuals, schools, businesses and sports teams to join in the fight against cancer during the month of October by creating fundraising and awareness events to help improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer to support care for patients. Dollars raised from these events contribute directly to the Cancer Center’s breast cancer research, diagnosis and prevention efforts.

Choose your event
After registering the location, you must think about what you plan to do for your event. Do you want to host a Geaux Pink sporting event? A Geaux Pink night at a local restaurant? A Geaux Pink free dress day? The options are endless, so be creative and have fun with it.
Keep it simple
It’s important to not spend too much time on the details and logistics. At the end of the day, you’re raising money for a great cause and that’s what matters most.
No event is too big or too small
You don’t have to host the largest Geaux Pink event to still make a difference. Support on all levels is greatly appreciated, so host the type of event that feels right for you.
