Micah Davis – how Mary Bird Perkins’ new technology shaped his cancer journey

In January 2021, Micah Davis was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. At first the disease was tackled through a combination of chemotherapy and surgery – however, despite initial scans showing no evidence of the disease, it returned a year later.

Enter the Elekta Unity at Mary Bird Perkins, a new technology that’s only available at a few cancer centers across the United States. After undergoing the Unity’s groundbreaking adaptive radiation treatment – allowing for precise therapy, higher but safe radiation treatments, and drastically reduced treatment visitations – Micah is once again showing no sign of cancer.

Micah’s story was originally detailed on Louisiana Public Broadcasting earlier this year, which you can watch here.

How’s he doing now? To find out, and see how the Cancer Center’s adaptive radiation technology has given Micah a new lease on life, watch the video above.
