St. Francis de Sales students make donation to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC

The school recently presented a $3,000 donation

 

(Houma, La.) – St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School in Houma recently presented a $3,000 donation to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC. Students raised the funds through a coin drive in memory of teachers Connie Ghirardi and Connie Leonard.

All the proceeds raised through the coin drive will help provide free cancer screenings throughout the Bayou Region as well as patient support services and clinical research. Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC offers free breast, prostate, skin, oral and colorectal cancer screenings to our local community throughout the year. In 2012, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC hosted 17 free screenings where more than 730 people were screened.

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC provides the full spectrum of cancer care, from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, recovery and survivorship for those in the Bayou Region.
