The Gala Thanks You: $83K Raised for Bayou Region Cancer Patients

Thanks to the support of the Bayou Region community and our generous sponsors, Mary Bird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center’s signature event, The Gala Goes to You, presented by Louis Mohana Furniture, was an overwhelming success!

Through generous donations throughout the event, our silent auction and support from our sponsors, over $83,000 was raised to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer for patients and their loved ones in the Bayou region. These funds will support the Cancer Center’s early detection programs, provide transportation assistance for patients traveling to and from treatment, nutritional supplements and so much more!

This year’s event took on an exciting new concept as a virtual show along with small watch parties throughout the region. The captivating stage program took place inside the Houma Terrebonne Civic Center and included heartfelt patient stories, live interviews and musical performances. It also featured a showcase of beautiful jewelry that was available in the silent auction thanks to Fakier Jewelers. The gorgeous furnishings used to create our set was provided by our presenting sponsor, Louis Mohana Furniture. The company also generously auctioned off all pieces featured on the streaming event with proceeds benefiting the Cancer Center.

Our program was broadcast through Facebook Live to homes and digital devices across the entire region, as well as at our COVID-19 safe, watch parties. Thank you to Ellendale Country Club, Walk-On’s, Bayou Terrebonne Distillers, Texas Roadhouse and La Carreta for hosting these safe viewing parties. A special thanks to Hi-5 and Blondie Balloons watch party décor and party boxes.

Other sponsors we would like to thank for a successful fundraiser include: Cenac Marine Services, Houma Oilfield Pump Service Co., USI Insurance Services, Cardiovascular Institute of the South and TGMC Volunteer Auxiliary.

Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who helped make The Gala Goes to You a success! To stay up to date with our latest events, follow the Cancer Center’s Facebook page.
