Michael Dzeda, M.D.

Dr. Michael Dzeda is a board-certified radiation oncologist, serving patients at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center locations in Hammond and at Baton Rouge General. With a focus on advanced, compassionate cancer care, he brings decades of clinical experience and a strong academic foundation to his role.

Dr. Dzeda is a 1991 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Prior to earning his medical degree, he completed undergraduate degrees in both microbiology and zoology at LSU in Baton Rouge and pursued master’s-level coursework and training in medical physics. He completed an internal medicine internship at LSU Allied Hospital in New Orleans and a residency in radiation oncology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Dzeda was awarded an American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship in recognition of his achievements in the field. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and has served as a selected peer reviewer for the American Journal of Clinical Oncology. Additionally, he co-authored the chapter on radiation treatment of benign disease in one of the leading textbooks in radiation oncology.

He has a special clinical interest in treating head and neck, gastrointestinal, and skin malignancies. Dr. Dzeda is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiation Oncology, the Medical Society of Delaware, and the Delaware Society of Clinical Oncology.
