Andrew Gahagan, M.D.

Dr. Andrew Gahagan is a medical oncologist at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating magna cum laude in 2014. Dr. Gahagan earned his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2018 and received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2021. He completed his internal medicine residency and fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was honored with the Thomas N. James Award for Excellence in Research by a Resident. During the 2023-2024 academic year, he served as chief fellow for the university’s hematology-oncology fellowship program. Dr. Gahagan is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. His commitment to excellence and compassionate patient care defines his practice at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
