Maurice L. King III, M.D.

Dr. Maurice King III is a radiation oncologist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, and a member of South Louisiana Radiation Oncology Associates (SLROG). He obtained his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he graduated magna cum laude. He also earned two masters of science degrees, first from Tulane University, in cellular and molecular biology, and then from Augusta University in Augusta, GA., in clinical and translational science. He earned his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed an internship in internal medicine at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He also carried out a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS.

King has previous experience working at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, having performed an elective in radiation oncology at the Cancer Center’s main location on Essen Lane while in medical school. He will work at Mary Bird Perkins’ Baton Rouge General, Gonzales and Essen Lane locations.
