Dr. Fiorella Sotomayor is an endocrinologist at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Florida International University and completed her medical degree at Universidad Ricardo Palma Facultad de Medicina Humana. Following her internship at Hospital Daniel Alcides Carrion, Dr. Sotomayor pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Notably, she served as Chief Resident from 2020 to 2021. Further specializing in endocrinology, she completed a Diabetes and Nutrition Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Fellow from 2022 to 2023. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the Endocrine Society, and the American Diabetes Association.
