Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Metairie Welcomes J. Christian Winters, MD, FACS

Winters Dr. Jack 002 preferredMetairie, La. – Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Metairie continues to expand its clinical expertise on the Southshore with the addition of Jack Christian (“Chris”) Winters, MD, FACS, a highly respected urologist known for his expertise in reconstructive urology, including the evaluation and treatment of bladder dysfunction especially after prior cancer treatments, urinary incontinence, bladder compliance abnormalities and urodynamics. As the Cancer Center’s newest urologic surgeon, he brings decades of clinical, academic and leadership experience to the organization and the patients across the region.

Winters is a nationally recognized urologist with more than 30 years of experience in academic medicine, clinical care and healthcare leadership. A native of New Orleans, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1984, and his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1988.

Board-certified by the American Board of Urology, Winters is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has received numerous honors for his contributions to urology and medical education, including  being elected as the president of the American Board of Urology, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction and the Distinguished Contribution Award from the American Urological Association.
