Cancer Center Celebrates Survivors during National Cancer Survivor Month
June is National Cancer Survivor Month
(Baton Rouge, La.)Â
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center will honor cancer survivors and their loved ones in June, designated as National Cancer Survivor Month, with several activities. The month kicks off with a celebration and expo highlighting, THRIVE, the Cancer Center’s survivorship program. This free event, which will include food, door prizes and giveaways, is set for Saturday, June 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cancer Center, 4950 Essen Lane. The Cancer Center is also offering a special flower arranging workshop as part of its THRIVE programming for the month. This free special event will be presented by Rickey Heroman’s Florist and Gifts, Thursday, June 18 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Cancer Center. An RSVP is required by Wednesday, June 17. Anyone impacted by cancer is invited to attend any of the aforementioned events. For more information, call (225) 215-1391.
