Cancer Center Offers Continuing Medical Education Opportunity

Physicians and other healthcare practitioners from throughout Louisiana are invited to attend a special Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunity focusing on diagnosing cancer and other life threatening diseases.

(Baton Rouge, La.) Physicians and other healthcare practitioners from throughout Louisiana are invited to attend a special Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunity focusing on diagnosing cancer and other life threatening diseases. The CME, hosted by Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, is set for Saturday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. – noon at the Renaissance Hotel, 7000 Bluebonnet Blvd. This CME is targeted largely to primary care and internal medicine physicians as well as women’s health practitioners, as these clinicians offer the most influence for screening and prevention and are also involved in long term follow-up care following cancer therapy. CME topics will include multidisciplinary care, colorectal cancer and prevention, proper management of neck mass, lung nodules in high risk patients, extending life with palliative care, skin cancer screening and more. This live CME activity is designated for a maximum of five American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award Category 1 Credits TM. Cost is $50 for physicians and free for residents and students.
