(Baton Rouge, La.) Geaux Clean Car Wash, a locally owned and operated express car wash company in the Baton Rouge area, is partnering with Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center through a corporate partnership that includes a gift to expand and advance cancer care. Geaux Clean’s commitment comes after a close friend of the company’s owners was diagnosed with cancer and treated successfully at the Cancer Center.
Everyone has been touched by cancer, but it wasn’t until we watched a close friend go through their cancer journey that we realized the life-changing impact a cancer diagnosis can have. We are grateful to have the most advanced care available right here at home and honored to partner with the Cancer Center to expand early detection in our community, explained Jill and Stuart Carter, owners of Geaux Clean Car Wash. The Carters, along with their entire company, are excited to launch this partnership and look forward to the impact it will make in the Baton Rouge community.
Funds provided to the Cancer Center as part of the corporate partnership will support a variety of initiatives, including the Cancer Center’s Prevention on the Go workplace program, which brings early detection, prevention, education and screenings to worksites. Geaux Clean employees will be screened for different types of cancers and if any abnormal findings are discovered, they will be navigated by a nurse for follow-up testing and care. In addition, Geaux Clean will serve as a key sponsor of the Cancer Center’s signature fundraising events such as The Gala, Hillar C. Moore, Jr. Golf Classic and Geaux Yoga, all events that fund cancer care and support for patients and their loved ones.
“The generosity of organizations such as Geaux Clean is key to advancing our mission to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer,” said Danielle Mack, vice president and chief development officer, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. “One hundred percent of Geaux Clean’s support directly benefits patients, so the company and its employees can feel good in knowing that this partnership will positively impact many lives. We appreciate their generosity and dedication to the community and are excited to begin this partnership.”
