GMFS Geauxs Pink to Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Official partner of Cancer Center’s signature Geaux Pink program

(Baton Rouge, La.) Mortgage lender GMFS, LLC is the official partner of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Geaux Pink program. Geaux Pink is a signature awareness and fundraising initiative of the Cancer Center. It encourages individuals, schools, businesses, and sports teams to join the fight against cancer by hosting Geaux Pink events throughout the year, with special emphasis during the month of October – National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Louisiana’s breast cancer death rates are among the highest in the nation. “GMFS is proud to be the official partner of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Geaux Pink program,” said Tee Brown, president, GMFS.  “Our donation to Geaux Pink is in honor of any GMFS employees, or family members of employees, who have suffered with breast cancer.”  The mortgage lender is also offering borrowers closing loans by the end of the year the opportunity to honor someone special to them with a donation made by GMFS, LLC. “In addition, a breast cancer screening held in Central on Tuesday, October 15 by the Cancer Center and its partners was sponsored by GMFS,” said Hallie Thompson, associate development director, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.  “Forty-nine people turned out for the screening, including one male, and 10 participants with abnormal findings were referred for further testing.
