Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Names Dana Neucere Chief Financial Officer
(Baton Rouge, La.)
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has announced that Dana Neucere, CPA, has been named chief financial officer (CFO) for the organization. Neucere, who has more than twenty years of experience, primarily in the healthcare industry, most previously served as CFO for Tenet Healthcare/Coast Healthcare Management, LLC, in Cypress, California. Neucere succeeds Paul Nowacki, who is retiring in December after serving as CFO at Mary Bird Perkins for nearly 20 years. As a member of Mary Bird Perkins’ senior management team, Neucere reports directly to Todd Stevens, president and chief executive officer. As CFO, she is responsible for all financial operations including accounts payable, financial planning and reporting, payroll, capital asset management, tax and general and patient accounting, as well supervision over facilities management for the organization. “We are so pleased to welcome such a highly-experienced professional to our team, and we thank Paul for his many dedicated years of service to the Cancer Center,” said Stevens. “Healthcare is a dynamic and ever-changing industry and Dana’s wealth of financial management knowledge will help ensure our legacy of transparency and fiscal responsibility to stakeholders continues, ensuring the Cancer Center’s ability to innovate and offer leading-edge treatments and technologies for years to come.” Neucere began her career as assistant controller at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton, Louisiana. Her extensive experience in increasingly advanced roles includes: consulting manager at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP in Costa Mesa, California; chief financial officer at Monarch Healthcare in Irvine, California, chief financial officer at New Century Health in Brea, California and partner at Tatum, LLC in Irvine, California, as well as leadership positions within other notable organizations. “The opportunity to return to my home state and contribute to an organization leading cancer care in Louisiana is a privilege and meaningful responsibility,” said Neucere. “There’s a dedication and passion amongst the Cancer Center team that you feel immediately, and through my financial experience, I’ll do everything within my abilities to help advance the Cancer Center’s mission to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer for all those we serve.” Neucere has a bachelor of science in accounting from Louisiana State University and a master of business administration from University of Southern California.
