Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Foundation Elects 2019-2020 Board Members

Community leaders elected to manage an endowment for improving the future of cancer care   (Baton Rouge, La.) Four community leaders were recently elected to serve on the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Foundation board: Brett Furr, Taylor Porter Attorneys at Law; Rose Hudson, Louisiana Lottery; Rolfe Miller, Miller Group Wealth Strategies of Raymond James; and Joseph B. “Beau” Olinde, retired. Gerard “Jerry” Jolly will continue serving as board chair. Jolly, a retired partner of KPMG LLP, has served on the Foundation board since 2013. Donna Saurage, community volunteer, will continue serving as immediate past chair. Ms. Saurage joined the board in 2015. Steven J. Moore, Steven J. Moore, LLC was re-elected to serve as vice chair and Paul R. Thompson, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, was elected as secretary-treasurer. Other board members include: Tee Brown, GMFS Mortgage, LLC; Jeanne James, community volunteer; Rebecca Nelson, community volunteer; David T. Perry, Arthur J. Gallaher Risk Management Services, Inc.; Todd D. Stevens, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center; and Nathaniel Tannehill, Wampold Hospitality Collection. Aza Bowlin, community volunteer, was recognized for her significant contributions to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Foundation with an appointment to the honorary position of director emeritus. Bowlin served on the board for six years, most recently as secretary-treasurer. “The Foundation board plays an integral part in positioning and securing Mary Bird Perkins as the leading cancer care organization across the Gulf South,” said Todd Stevens, president and CEO of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. “This board’s sole purpose is to build a long-term endowment to support the fight against cancer. None of what we do would be possible without the time and talent of these extraordinary volunteers who are helping us advance our mission to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer.”
