The Taste 2014 Announces The Match
Fundraising Challenge Sponsored By Laurée and Jim Bob Moffett
(Baton Rouge, La.)
The Taste, an annual fundraiser benefiting local cancer patients, is a fun evening for a serious cause in support of Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center and its fight against cancer. One hundred percent of all proceeds from this May 1, 2014 event will directly support cancer awareness, early detection and screening programs in our local community. Cancer Center supporters Laurée and Jim Bob Moffett have announced that they will match all donations made to The Taste during the week of April 2-12 – dollar for dollar up to $10,000 – in honor of Laurée’s mother, Betty LaFleur Zachariah, who was treated at the Cancer Center. “We are firm believers that the gift of giving back to the community is the best gift of all!” said Laurée Moffett. The Match Fundraising Challenge is open to anyone who would like to make a donation to The Taste or purchase tickets to attend the event. “We are pleased to partner with the Moffetts on this great opportunity. Because of their generosity, donations of all sizes–large or small–will go even further toward helping those most in need in our community,” emphasized Ethan Bush, vice president and Chief Development Officer, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. “It’s great for people to know that any contributions will actually go twice as far.” For more information on The Taste or the March Fundraising Challenge, please visit
