Matthew Mutter, MD, joins Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center

Metairie, La. – Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is pleased to announce that Matthew Mutter, MD, a general urologist, joined the Cancer Center’s Urologic Oncology Clinic in Metairie on Jan. 2.

Matthew Mutter, MDMutter is a Metairie native who has practiced in the greater New Orleans area for eight years. He joins Mary Bird Perkins after previously serving as associate professor of clinical urology at LSU-New Orleans Department of Urology, and is a specialist in men’s health and cancer survivorship.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University and his medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He completed an internship at the University of Tennessee Memphis, where he also carried out a residency in urology.

He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons, the American Urologic Association and the Louisiana Urological Association.

Since 2017, Mutter has appeared on podcasts and live news broadcasts to discuss topics including kidney stones, erectile dysfunction and more. With his supportive care and side effect management of prostate cancer patients, he completes the Cancer Center’s team of urological cancer specialists in Metairie.
