Jeffrey Long, M.D. appointed to medical director

Dr. Long joined the medical staff of MBPCC at TGMC in 2009

 

(Houma, La.) – Jeffrey P. Long, M.D., a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist, was recently appointed to the position of Medical Director at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC (MBPCC at TGMC).

As Medical Director, Dr. Long will provide medical leadership essential to the successful operation of all interdisciplinary aspects of the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC. This position seeks to optimize the continuum of care, achieve goals regarding clinical outcomes and patient and medical staff satisfaction. Dr. Long will, with others on the Cancer Program Leadership Team, develop, implement and maintain the direction and quality of the Cancer Program.

Dr. Long joined the medical staff of MBPCC at TGMC in 2009 and since that time has played an integral role in providing comprehensive cancer care. He shares his knowledge and expertise at many educational events and with civic organizations in our community.

Dr. Long received his medical training at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
