April 2 – 7
(Houma) –
The 2
nd
AnnualMary Bird Perkins at TGMC Open will take place at Ellendale Country Club April 2 – 7 and will once again feature the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series. Although last year was the first time the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series partnered with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC, the tour has been coming to Houma since 2005. “I think this is one of those events that the pros look for each year when we release the tour schedule,” said Tyler Wolford, tour director. “We have always received positive feedback from players about the course layout, local hospitality and just a good impression of the event.” The Taste of the Tournament Par-Tee and Auction will kick off the week’s festivities on Monday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature some of the area’s most delicious local cuisine, music and a silent auction. The Pro-Am takes place Tuesday, April 3 and is in the form of a four-man shamble, with three amateur golfers and an Adams Tour pro per team. Wednesday, April 4 through Saturday, April 7 is the Mary Bird Perkins at TGMC Open professional tournament featuring Adams Golf Pro Tour Series players. A free junior clinic for kids ages 6 – 16 will be held Thursday, April 5 in association with Adams Golf Pro Tour Series professionals. Proceeds benefit Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC. The Center’s mission is to improve survivorship and lessen the burden of cancer in the Bayou Region.
