Richard Griffith and Shannon Hyde Join Mary Bird Perkins Leadership Team

(Baton Rouge, La.) – Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is proud to welcome Richard “Rich” Griffith and Shannon Hyde to its experienced leadership team. Griffith will serve as administrator for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Baton Rouge locations. Hyde will serve as the organization’s senior director of network development/provider relations, providing support to all Mary Bird Perkins locations and service areas.

These two administrators join a talented team of professionals who have helped establish and strengthen Mary Bird Perkins’ reputation as the Gulf South’s leading cancer care organization.

As administrator for all Baton Rouge locations, Griffith will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of the Cancer Center’s comprehensive oncology programs, including medical oncology, radiation therapy, infusion center services, laboratory services and patient support services.

Rich Griffith ApprovedGriffith is a process improvement expert with more than 10 years of management experience in healthcare services. Since 2017, he served as the CEO of Jackson Oncology Associates, PLLC, a 118-employee private practice spread across three locations that provides care to patients in Jackson, Miss. Before that role, he served as the director of ambulatory operations for the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he lent his experience to advancing the Cancer Institute’s academic success, ambulatory operations, financial goals and objectives.

Griffith earned his degree in health services administration from Malone University in Canton, Ohio. He is currently pursuing his MBA from Western Governors University.

Having most recently served as oncology service line outreach executive for Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center/Woman’s Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion, Hyde will now take on the role of senior director of network development/provider relations. She brings a wealth of experience to this position, including twenty years of experience in the healthcare industry (twelve years in oncology).

Hyde is a proven leader who has already lent her expertise and demonstrated her value to the work of Mary Bird Perkins.

Shannon Hyde ApprovedHyde previously worked for Johnson & Johnson and UCB Pharmaceuticals. She is an experienced pharmaceutical representative and has sold various complex biologics and monoclonal antibodies in sales territories across Louisiana and Mississippi.

Hyde earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
