| What’s the purpose of the Untie the Ribbons event?

Untie the Ribbons is a free community event to educate, enlighten, and empower women on the impact of Triple Negative Breast Cancer in an effort to reduce mortality in African American women.

| Who’s the target audience?

Women under the age of 40, specifically African American women are encouraged to attend and learn more about the signs and impacts of a Triple Negative Breast Cancer diagnosis. Triple Negative Breast Cancer survivors are also asked to attend to share their personal experiences.

| What’s expected to happen?

Participants will be educated on breast cancer, in particular Triple Negative Breast Cancer, and how they can reduce their risk – thus improving their quality of life and reducing mortality. This will be done through presentations from medical experts and survivors. Other health vendors will be available to provide participants with additional health information. The event will culminate with a fashion show to
empower participants to prioritize self-care.

| What else will be offered?

Light breakfast and boxed lunches will be served. Health, beauty and fashion vendors will be set up as part of the event, and various door prizes will be given out throughout the day.
