Congratulations, Top Forty Under 40 Winners!
Before joining the Cancer Center,
Dr. Accardo
trained at the Moffitt Cancer Center and completed an international traveling fellowship in both musculoskeletal oncology and orthopedic trauma. Recently, Dr. Lyons and Dr. Accardo opened the
Musculoskeletal Treatment Clinic
to offer quality care for rare bone, soft tissue, and skin diseases. Located in the Cancer Center, it’s the region’s first clinic specializing in these disorders. Additionally, he and his partner Allison have shown great empathy for abandoned or abused animals by building an animal sanctuary.

As pharmacy director, Wendy Gaudet leads operations for the Cancer Center and the Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion’s in-house pharmacies, as well as the pharmacies at Our Lady of the Lake, Our Lady of the Lake Livingston, and LSU Health Baton Rouge. Under her leadership, the Cancer Center’s pharmacies have made great strides, including reducing the turnaround time for infusion drug preparation down to 30 minutes—approximately half of the time expected by the national standard. Wendy credits her pharmacy team members and having two pharmacies embedded in the infusion centers for these successes.

These honorees, their colleagues, their expertise, and their caring hearts are part of what sets the Cancer Center apart. Congratulations, Dr. Accardo and Wendy! Your dedication to your patients, colleagues, and profession is appreciated.
