What is LymphEd?
LymphEd is a free educational class designed to help cancer survivors understand lymphedema risk, prevention and early warning signs. The class focuses on education, empowerment and early intervention to support long-term health.
Who Should Attend?
LymphEd welcomes individuals who have undergone or will undergo cancer treatment involving lymph node removal or radiation, including:
Breast, head and neck, gynecologic, prostate and colorectal cancers
Sentinel lymph node biopsy or lymph node dissection
Radiation involving lymph node areas
All genders, caregivers and survivors at any stage are welcome.
What You Will Learn
What lymphedema is and common misconceptions
Risk factors and the importance of early education
Early signs and symptoms to watch for
Everyday risk-reduction strategies
Safe exercise and activity guidelines
What to do if symptoms appear
Who Leads the Class?
