The Echo Alliance Ascension

Echo Alliance Logo
Many Voices. One Goal

Created by Women • Led by Women • For Women

As drivers of change and innovation, decision makers, communicators and leaders, women know firsthand how to make a meaningful impact.

When women come together, our voices are amplified and our impact is multiplied. The Echo Alliance is a collaborative group of women – with a passion for making a difference – dedicated to supporting those affected by cancer.

The Echo Alliance participants are asked to make an annual $1,000 tax-deductible targeted donation to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.

Members of The Echo Alliance have a say in how donations make a meaningful impact at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. When funding decisions are made, all current Echo Alliance participants have the chance to vote on the allocation of funds.

The inaugural project will focus on the Invest in Ascension campaign, a transformative effort to expand and enhance services at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Gonzales. Over the past decade, Ascension Parish has experienced tremendous growth, yet cancer incidence rates continue to surpass the state average. In response, Mary Bird Perkins has made significant investments in leading-edge technology, programs, and facilities to meet the growing needs of this community.

Thanks to the support of local stakeholders, thousands of residents now have access to high-quality treatments, advanced diagnostic imaging, and essential support services close to home. After the Cancer Center began offering chemotherapy and infusion services a few years ago, demand quickly exceeded capacity. To address this, a major renovation and expansion was recently completed, more than tripling the center’s size. The new 6,000-square-foot facility includes a 2,500-square-foot infusion suite with 14 semi-private bays and one private room, a state-of-the-art lab, retail pharmacy, new exam rooms, and enhanced access to patient navigation, nutrition, palliative care, and clinical trials.

Through the Invest in Ascension campaign, Mary Bird Perkins has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care in Gonzales. The Echo Alliance Ascension will play a vital role in this effort by uniting community members, businesses, and supporters to raise funds that directly benefit the Cancer Center and patients across Ascension Parish. Together, we can shape the future of cancer care in our region and ensure every patient receives world-class treatment without having to leave home.

“What makes the Echo Alliance so special is that it consists of more than 150 women dedicated to making a measurable difference in the lives of patients at Mary Bird Perkins. I have lost many close family members to cancer, so it is extremely important to me to align myself with an organization and mission that helps lessen the burden for those fighting this disease today."
