Faizan I. Malik, M.D.

Dr. Faizan I. Malik is a medical oncologist in Covington and Slidell, Louisiana. He completed his undergraduate degree in pre-medicine at the National Science College before he received his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan. Dr. Malik completed two clinical rotations at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Fox Chase Cancer Center. He also completed a residency in hematology oncology at Abington Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania, where he later became a teaching hospitalist and earned the Eleanor Dixon Award for research. Dr. Malik then went on to complete a hematology oncology fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Dr. Malik attributes his strong interest in hematology oncology to his multiple clinical rotations where he learned about and researched chemotherapy, targeted therapies, clinical trials, genomics, proteomics, radiotherapy and cancer vaccines. When Dr. Malik isn’t practicing medicine, you can find him traveling and enjoying the great outdoors. Dr. Malik loves practicing medical oncology because it allows him to develop a close relationship with patients, connect, learn about them and become a part of their family.

Dr. Malik is board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine.
